YOIN audit updated and optimised

26-03-2026

The YOIN audit is regularly reviewed and optimised to ensure it continues to reflect the needs, expectations, and experience of event planners. The latest update has just been completed and introduces several significant improvements.

Safety & Accessibility
The category previously referred to as "Guests with Reduced Mobility" has been replaced by the broader category Accessibility and has been expanded accordingly.

"Accessibility is a much broader concept than 'reduced mobility' and better reflects the scope of the questions included in the audit," explains Gerbrig Reitsma, YOIN Coordinator. She adds that the updated category now assesses facilities and provisions for people with a wide range of disabilities and accessibility needs.

The new Safety category has also been introduced. While some safety-related questions were already part of the audit, the category has been expanded to include additional topics such as Risk Inventory & Evaluation (RI&E), emergency response (BHV) plans, and the organisation of emergency response teams.

Refinements and additions
"During each optimisation, we review the entire audit to determine whether questions or answer options can be refined, clarified, or expanded," says Reitsma. This latest review has resulted in the addition of questions about lactation rooms and prayer rooms, as well as more specific questions regarding EV charging facilities and parking.

All inspections and reassessments carried out from 25 March onwards will be conducted using this updated version of the YOIN audit.
